Hi Vikki, thank you for reading and responding to this piece. Although you wrote otherwise, I think your question still asks Black people to save white people from themselves. As you said, it’s a 50\50 fight among white people, and Black people, especially Black women, have ALWAYS shown up at the polls to fight for the lesser of two evils even when it doesn’t benefit us (and it rarely does.)

My reason for writing this is that that should not be expected of us. We should not be called on because a chunk of white people have a penchant for white supremacist violence. It should not be our job to vote and save white people from themselves.
